As many of you know, hacktivist Jeremy Hammond has pled guilty to one count of violating the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. His sentencing will be held on November 15, 2013 at 9 AM. He faces up to ten years in prison for a politically-motivated act of civil disobedience from which he personally gained nothing, and which he only hoped would make the world a better place.
We would like to fill the courtroom with as many supporters as possible. Sentencing is always an emotional event, and it is incredibly encouraging for him to see friendly faces in the gallery.
In the meantime, we are collecting letters asking Judge Preska for leniency in sentencing. The deadline for letters is October 15th. Even if you cannot make the hearing, a letter would go a long way in showing your support for Jeremy!
