Fresh from the imagination of a father working in a small design collective in Oakland, CA, comes the lovely little book "A is for Activist." It's a delightful board book for toddlers that references the stories of peoples' struggles and successes around the world, a book that shows the beauty of solidarity.
Innosanto Nagara wanted to write a book that met the storytelling needs of the parents of the next generation of progressives, a book that was "unapologetic about activism, environmental justice, civil rights, LGBTQ rights, and so on..." Reading it is almost like reading Howard Zinn's A People's History of the United States, but for two-year olds—full of pictures and rhymes and a little cat to find on every page that will delight the curious toddler and parents alike.
Enjoy! And learn more about the project here.
